An Update from the Office of Community Engagement and Constituent Services (CECS)
Dear Community Leaders and Members of Anne Arundel County,

I hope that you all continue to be safe and healthy. I want to take a moment to give you information on a few key events that will occur this week and provide you with several other updates.

We have a full week of virtual engagement planned for you. Be sure to join us for our Virtual Town Halls, details below, and to submit your questions ahead of time to [email protected].

Also, the County Executive will submit his FY21 Budget Proposal to the County Council on Friday, May 1st at 11 a.m. You can watch his budget address on the cable public access channels or follow along on Facebook.

Our Anne Arundel County communities are still in need of donations! In May, the County Council will hold virtual Council Meetings to hear and vote on legislation that was postponed due to the pandemic. Be sure to read below to learn about the bills that will be heard next week and to learn how you can submit comment and participate in these virtual meetings. Having your voice heard is always important, so be sure not to miss out on this opportunity to weigh in on the civic process.

Anne Arundel County Receives Over $100 Million in Federal Funding for COVID Response
These funds can only be used on COVID-19 related expenses and we will be tracking and accounting for these funds and reporting monthly to the County Council and the public through our OpenArundel website.

Submit County Council Testimony Online & Attend Virtual Meetings
Beginning Monday, May 4, 2020 the Anne Arundel County Council will conduct a series of virtual legislative sessions to hear and vote on legislation postponed due the COVID-19 health crisis and introduce other necessary legislation. Meetings will be held on Mondays in May, except for Tuesday, May 26, and will start at 7:00 p.m. The full schedule is available  HERE

Instructions on how to submit public comment on a specific piece of legislation or to submit remarks on subjects other than bills and resolutions currently listed on the schedule can be found HERE.
