Our hearts and doors have never closed throughout the pandemic.
We have modified our systems to keep our clients, staff and volunteers safe so that we can continue to provide services to everyone in need.

Through your support, Interfaith Community Services continues to meet the needs of our community. THANK YOU!
We are Helping Families Rebuild Their Lives
Sam, a single mom and her 14-year-old child, came to Interfaith through our Basic Needs Services looking for help. Sam shared that they were living in their car and having trouble finding a place. One of our case managers brought them to the Family shelter, and they worked together in creating a plan to save money and look for housing. Within 3 months, the family was able to find something local, so that the child did not have to change school districts mid-year. They are now settled and thriving in their new home.

During Black History Month, we honor and celebrate important people and events in the history of the African diaspora, while emphasizing the central role of Blacks in US history.  At Interfaith Community Services, during the month of February and throughout the year, we celebrate and are grateful for our African-American colleagues, volunteers, board members, and community stakeholders who are change makers providing integral leadership.

Thankful for our new Veterans Program Manager, Curtis Winfree
“As a Marine Corps Veteran, I consider it an honor and privilege to serve our Coastal Veteran community with Interfaith’s amazing team! With over 22 years of active-duty military service and 15 years partnering with Veteran service organizations throughout San Diego County, I look forward to helping our Veterans and their families thrive. Together at Interfaith, we continue to make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve, and in our communities!”
Wanda, Interfaith Resident Coordinator in Oceanside, comes from a family of Ministries and Veterans, including her son who is her “hero.” Wanda shares that being a part of Interfaith is fulfilling as her colleagues, donors and volunteers give from their hearts and share a passion for helping Veterans help themselves.

“My colleagues feel like an extended family and the best part of the job is knowing we are making a difference. Seeing people shift from the first call asking for help, committing to the process and becoming self-sufficient is really rewarding.”

There is growing discussion in San Diego around the need to create safe villages, either as alternatives to traditional shelter or addressing our need to increase capacity as the shelters are full. This is a conversation you do not want to miss.

Thankful for Volunteers and Change Makers
Tim is a Veteran and Aerospace Executive for 40 years. Tim volunteers weekly at our Carlsbad Service Center by providing resume and job placement support.

“Giving time is a lot harder than money, both are important, but if one is empathetic and patient with working with people in need, it is very fulfilling to give back and see people’s hardship shift into hope.”

Thankful for this team of awesome Women Volunteers, Elizabeth, Pat, and MaryJane. They join us on a regular basis in meeting our community outreach goals. On this day, they prepared gift bags for our partner Landlords giving people second changes.

Overnight temps were in the 30’s when members of the Order of Malta helped unsheltered individuals at Interfaith Community Services try on and choose new winter coats. The coats were a warm and welcome gift for many!
