Valerie's Story
Before finding Interfaith, Valerie and her cat lived in a small trailer, isolated and too far from the medical care she needed. For over 12 years, her limited resources provided her with no other option.

Thanks to your support, Interfaith helped Valerie get the help she deserved.
Through our partnership with Adult Protective Services and the Home Safe Program, we supported Valerie’s transition to a senior living community, while addressing her need for in-home care and access to medical services. We also worked with our partners to cover three months of rent, find a suitable hospital-style bed for her medical needs, and Interfaith fully furnished her apartment through our Make-it-a-Home program. Thank you to everyone who supports our impactful work. Together, we truly change and improve lives!

We are proud to announce that Interfaith Community Services has earned Charity Navigator’s highest possible 4-star rating for a seventh consecutive year. Only 9% of charities or non-profits evaluated in America have been able to achieve this exceptional milestone. It is exciting to see our important work recognized as exceeding industry standards while re-affirming our transparency and accountability to our supporters and community.
Point-in-Time Count 2022
Interfaith Community Services partnered with the Regional Task Force on the Homeless in counting and surveying our neighbors in need. Our gratitude goes out to the over 75 Volunteers who joined forces in Escondido for the annual count. As data is finalized from this year’s Point-In-Time-Count, we will learn more about how State and County funding, essential in reducing homelessness, will be impacted. To learn more about the Point-In-Time count’s importance to our communities, you can read a recent article from the San Diego Tribune by clicking on this link:

A few years ago, Vanessa lived in her car and lost custody of her three children while battling addiction. In her own healing process, she started a non-profit program, Oceanside Homeless Resource, now also called “Love on the ground.” Listen to Vanessa’s powerful story about hope, love, compassion, open hearts and minds. In Vanessa’s own words, “Let us walk together and be love on the ground.”
Vanessa’s story truly highlights the importance and need for treatment programs like Interfaith’s Recovery & Wellness Center.
