I am writing in response to the growing concern around the Coronavirus outbreak in central China. First and foremost, I hope that you, your family, and friends are safe and healthy in your community. At the same time, I want to assure you that your children are safe and are being well taken care of here at school. The school administration is monitoring this evolving situation closely in order to take steps that will help to ensure the well-being of everyone in our community.
With our Spring Break holiday approaching in March, it is almost certain that students currently in the United States will not be able to travel back to China, even if they have made prior arrangements; and those in China may not be able to return
To help secure the health and safety of our international and domestic students, and follow CDC (Center for Disease Control) guidance, we are advising our international students from China against travel back to their home country. We are currently reviewing individual travel plans with each student and will make every effort to support them as they make arrangements to remain in the United States.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
If you know of someone in the United States such as a relative or friend of the family who might take your child in between March 1 and March 16, please make arrangements with them as soon as possible and inform the Dean’s Office. If there is another arrangement you have in mind, please also keep the School informed.
If you need help with this process, or with finding other accommodations for your child during the upcoming holiday, please don’t hesitate to contact me or the Dean’s Office with your questions or concerns.
Again, please be assured that the School will continue to monitor the situation and communicate additional information as it develops in the coming days and weeks.
For the most up-to-date information about the Coronavirus, please check the CDC website.
