Good evening Parents,
Further to the Minister of Education’s announcement that public schools will be moving to remote learning, the Heads of the Private Schools have consulted and we have all decided to try to remain open for as long as we can.
I understand that the rise in the level of positive cases in the community is cause for alarm and the closure of the public schools has added a fresh level of anxiety. Please be assured that the health and safety of our students and staff is paramount, as we chart our course through these turbulent times.
It should be noted that the Minister of Education has shared that the Public School transition was not the result of any direct issues with any COVID-19 transmission in schools, but was primarily triggered by significant non-attendance by both students and teachers and the subsequent inability to find substitute staff to continue effective face-to-face instruction. Fortunately, this has not been the case within our school.
As such, all private schools have decided to continue to tighten and reinforce the safety protocols, such that we can continue to deliver in-person instruction to our students.
Further to this, we will continue to monitor developments on the local situation, adapt accordingly, and remain agile and prepared to immediately move to a complete remote learning environment, if it becomes necessary.
As always, we implore all parents to strictly manage their household bubbles and adhere to the public health guidelines. Our ability to continue to safely offer in-school instruction is largely dependent on the entire school family adhering to these protocols outside of school.
We thank you for your “social sacrifices” and ongoing support, as we continue to deliver in-school instruction to our students and ensure the health and safety of our school family.
