COMMUNITY SCHOLARS IN-RESIDENCE

Congratulations to our Community Scholars In-Residence for 2017-2018, Akin Oyalowo, M.D., Joseph Benci Ph.D., MPH and Yujue Wang, M.D., Ph.D.!

We look forward to working with our next cohort of scholars as they increase their research capacity by developing relationships with community partners, establishing best practices in community-engaged research, and leveraging activities for scholarship and improved health outcomes!

GOODBYE TO SOME, HELLO TO OTHERS

We've had some staff changes in the last month. Victoria Worthen and Alyssa Yackle moved on to new positions. Victoria is a consultant at Equal Measure and Alyssa is a project manager at Society of Clinical Research Associates. We wish them all the best!

Kay Coup, our Community Advisory Board member from SEPTA, retired this year. We welcome  Lorna Haley as her replacement.

Betsy Kaage was hired as the Communications Coordinator for the PRC. She comes to us with a background in social media and marketing for tourism. Betsy & her family moved to Media, PA from Illinois in August 2016. Contact her with any news, updates and events to be featured on social media and the website.
TWITTER LISTS

Betsy created Twitter Lists to make it easier to follow what's going on with people and organizations associated to the PRC. "list is a curated group of Twitter accounts. You can create your own lists or subscribe to lists created by others. Viewing a list timeline will show you a stream of Tweets from only the accounts on that list." (Twitter)

IN THE NEWS
Jason Karlawish recently had the opportunity to talk with Bill Lyon, the retired Philadelphia Inquirer sports columnist and now essayist about his experiences living with Alzheimer's disease. Read his article in The Philadelpia Inquirer.
