March 10, 2020

Dear colleagues,

We have been following closely the recent developments with COVID-19, the novel coronavirus. Our thoughts and support go out to all those affected and our colleagues on the frontline dealing with this outbreak in various settings.

We are committed to sharing updates with information about COVID-19’s potential impact on the 27 th International Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus and Related Viruses (HCV2020), scheduled to take place July 6 – 9, 2020 in Montreal, Canada.

The risk within the Greater Montreal Area continues to be considered low by the authorities.

At this time, the symposium is moving forward as scheduled at this time. Early Bird registration, Abstract Submission and Travel Awards application will close on March 29, 2020. We are also exploring novel innovative options that would allow participation of colleagues who may not be able to attend in person because of travel restrictions or professional commitments due to COVID-19.

Given ongoing developments around COVID-19, we would like to assure you that measures have been taken into consideration, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely. We will take direction from the SANTÉ MONTRÉAL office as well as provincial and federal authorities, as required. For the most up-to-date and reliable information, please refer to official organizations, such as the World Health Organization(WHO)), and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
