BOARD MEETING AGENDA

The Board of Supervisors has a meeting scheduled on Tuesday, February 6th, at 9:00 AM. Our agenda includes several presentations, two hearings for cannabis-related appeals, and much more.

AT&T - CARRIER OF LAST RESORT

This is a reminder - AT&T has applied to discontinue copper landline phone service in some parts of our county/district - something they are currently required to provide as the Carrier of Last Resort (COLR).

A letter of opposition from the Board of Supervisors is on the Consent Calendar portion of our agenda on Februarty 6th.

Both the RCRC (a group representing rural counties of CA) and CSAC (a group representing all CA counties) are opposing this application.

You can help by sharing your message of opposition via this link...

BOARD MEETING NOTES

The board held a special meeting on January 31st. We confirmed a new Planning Commissioner for District 2 and dealt with one other matter. Click here to review my notes.

GENERAL PLAN UPDATE

Community workshops will be held in Douglas City, Junction City, Lewiston, and Weaverville on Monday, March 4th, and Tuesday, March 5th. The specific time and location of each community workshop is still to be determined.

These meetings are an opportunity for community members to provide much-needed input regarding community-specific visions. I encourage you to stay informed by visiting the Trinity 2050 website.

You can also use the website to subscribe to General Plan email updates. See the image below for reference on how to sign up for these email updates.

WATER MATTERS

For 2024, we are not anticipating a repeat of the Winter Variable Flows approach that was introduced last year. Negotiations continue on a modified approach to Winter Variable Flows for future years. The (bigger picture ) Reconsultation process that impacts water releases of all types from Trinity Lake is also ongoing.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Trent Tuthill | CAO and I met with representatives of several organizations involved in economic development here in the North State.

TCDC board members met last week with Ryan Richardson | Executive Director of our regional economic development organization.

Both of these discussions were encouraging and productive.
