Dear JABC Volunteer,

With the most recent updates about COVID-19 from our Provincial Medical Health Officer, we want to ensure you have the latest information when volunteering for JABC in a classroom.

As of March 12, 2020, anyone who chooses to travel outside of Canada will be asked to self-isolate (stay away from work or school) for 14 days upon their return to BC.

The health and safety of our students, volunteers, educators and staff is our priority and currently the transmission risk of COVID-19 in Canada still remains low. British Columbia schools are entering spring break and, at this time, the Provincial Medical Health Officer advises school closures are not necessary. The Health Minister confirms there will be ongoing discussions over spring break with the Ministry of Education to continue monitoring COVID-19 and BC's response to it.

For more information on the virus and preventative measures, please visit the BC Centre for Disease Control . Also frequent the Ministry of Health with the most recent media releases and regular news conferences.

As a reminder, if you cannot deliver a program, please get in touch with your Program Team member . They will reschedule or find an alternate program delivery method. If you are unable to reach your regular JABC Program Team member, please contact Deborah Wakeham, VP Programs at (250) 893-4495 or Deborah.Wakeham@jabc.org or Cheryl Borgmann, Director of Community Engagement at (604) 688-3887 x 226 or Cheryl.Borgmann@jabc.org .

We still need volunteers across the province this school year and appreciate your support. Thank you very much for your ongoing commitment to BC youth.

Please contact me at sheila.biggers@jabc.org if you have any questions about the content of this email.

Sincerely,
