Recap Of Our Halloween Party FUN!

Our Urban Scholar's Program is GROWING

We have two new groups of scholars starting the afterschool program November 1 and 7. We are very excited for them to meet our staff and transition into the program. Our Urban Scholar’s program is still accepting applications, make sure to spread the word and join in on the fun. Contact Erika at 203-368-5564 for any questions or concerns!

Urban Scholar of the Month

Genisys is this month’s Urban Scholar of the Month! She has been with the Urban Scholars program since the summer. Her favorite activity in our after-school program is our baking club on Fridays. She enjoys baking treats and eating them with her group. Genisys also speaks highly about her time here and states that the program has helped her build self-love and confidence through the friendships she’s gained here and our social-emotional learning exercises. When Genisys grows up she wants to be either a hairstylist or a nail technician. Awesome Genisys! Keep up the good work!

Volunteers Needed in Our Community Closet!

Our Community Closet is a space where families or individuals can receive clothing, personal care items, shoes, books, etc. Our Community Closet is open to Life Bridge Clients to “shop” by appointment. The closet is currently in need of volunteers to help, particularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteers help organize and distribute clothing to our Life Bridge clients. We are looking for volunteers to help during the hours of either 11 am – 3 pm or 1 pm-3 pm. Please contact the coordinator Paige Green at (203)-368-5523 or email her at [email protected] if you’re interested in volunteering.

A Special Goodbye to our VISTA

LifeBridge has partnered with the AmeriCorps VISTA program for the past three years. Our VISTA member Jennifer has recently ended her commitment here, we have been fortunate enough to have Jen here for the past two years. Jennifer was our Partnership and Marketing VISTA. She wrote our monthly and weekly newsletters. She made sure that pictures were taken at events, and she helped tremendously in helping translate for our Hispanic families in our Urban Scholar program. We thank and congratulate Jennifer on her new adventure!

The Urban Scholars Program is supported by AmeriCorps VISTA Members.
