Dear Friends,
The Morning Show on February 2nd Will Feature:
Update on Resettled Afghan Families in Newburyport
It's been almost exactly a year since WJOP (FM 96.3) spoke with Rev. Rebecca Bryan of First Religious Society Unitarian Universalist Church and Father Jarred Mercer of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church about their congregations' hosting of resettled Afghan families. It seemed that it was time to check in and see how things have been progressing, and The Morning Show is happy to report that both ministers as well as Rev. Christopher Ney of Central Congregational Church will visit the show this week to offer an update on how the families are doing.
The Morning Show will talk with the three ministers about what has gone well for the families, what’s been challenging, how the families are coping with their many transitions, how the community has engaged in providing support, and what kind of current support would be helpful to receive from the community.
