Update on Summer Programs
We wanted to update our community on the status of our summer programs. Normally, we have three summer programs that we offer for individuals on the spectrum. These include Camp I CAN, our summer camp that we run in conjunction with our local YMCA partners, Surf Camp, which we run at La Jolla Shores with our partner, Aqua Pros Swim School, and AWARE, our adult summer recreational program that we run in conjunction with Ecke YMCA.

Based on the guidelines and regulations provided to us by the state and county, Camp I CAN WILL HAPPEN this year, although it will look much different than it has in previous years. Instead of offering 8 weeks of camp, we have had to reduce it to 4 weeks, with a shorter day that does not include any community outings or swimming. While this is not the program that we love to be able to offer, we are happy to still be able to provide this program, even if it is not as well rounded an experience as we wish it to be. Those who have not yet registered will be added to a wait list should there be openings.

However, it is with heavy hearts that we must announce that Surf Camp and AWARE are CANCELED for Summer 2020. We are truly dedicated to both of these programs and wish we could provide all of our customary programs, but unfortunately, we just could not make these happen with the current public health guidelines that are in place. We look forward to being able to resume these programs in the summer of 2021.

We wish you all a happy, safe summer. Thank you,
