CDC Covid Guidelines and Shir Ami Guidelines:
As the guidelines continue to be updated by the CDC we are taking them into account as well as considering the feedback from our congregants based on our questionnaire that was filled out in May.
As we begin to have some outdoor events, we ask that everyone follow these basic guidelines. It is our obligation as a congregation to be responsible and keep our congregants safe and comfortable. As time goes on, these guidelines may change but for now:
- Bring your own chairs to use for seating at our outdoor Sunset Shabbat Service.
- Bring your own food/drinks - no sharing of food
- For outdoor events, fully vaccinated people do not have to wear masks but should have them available if singing in close contact or for using in the rest rooms.
- Adults/Children who are not fully vaccinated must wear masks and social distance.
- Anyone who has recently traveled or been exposed should do a home test prior to coming to confirm they have a negative test. (CVS sells a home test you can use).
- Anyone who isn't feeling well or is uncomfortable attending in person may attend the service via Zoom.
- In order to keep everyone comfortable, healthy and safe, we expect that attendees only share air-kisses and hugs at Shir Ami events.

OUR JULY MEMBERSHIP DRIVE CONTINUES...
Thank you to those who have already sent in your Membership Forms!!!
Our goal is to get all Membership Forms back by July 15th so that we can prepare for the High Holy Days which are early this year. Stay tuned for more about HHD.
Being a Member of Shir Ami, allows you to
- help shape our community support its mission
- find inspiration in our diverse offerings
- have access to our wonderful clergy
If you didn't see the email, or if you know someone who is interested in joining our awesome Shir Ami family, you may find the Membership welcome letter for prospective members and the Membership Form on our website, by clicking on these links below.
Click here to read our Welcome letter from Cantor Abramson and Shir Ami Co-Presidents Susan Nisinzweig and Marie Orsini Rosen.
All are Welcome to Join Our Community!
Note: Current Members received an email in your inbox on July 1st, with a Renewal Letter from the Cantor and Co-Presidents, and a Membership Form. We accidently attached an old draft of the form so another email went out on July 2nd with the current form for 2021-22. Sorry for the confusion.

Interfaith Blood Drive
Saturday, July 17th
8:00 AM- 1:30 PM
Faithful Shir Ami blood donors, and new members who might become among our faithful!
We are now just two weeks away from our Interfaith Blood Drive on Saturday, July 17th. We would love to see Shir Ami take many of the appointments for that day, as we have in the past. In fact, for our size, we punch above our weight as the most percentage-represented congregation - let’s keep our streak going!
Red Cross anticipates that as the pandemic eases and elective surgery that was postponed earlier returns, blood needs over the summer will surge. Our July 17 drive comes at a key time; school is ending and vacations are beginning; and the Fourth of July holiday will be just a couple of weeks away, where travel and accidents cause the need for blood to be most urgent.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could give someone a gift that would change their life - you can! Go to www.redcrossblood.org and use the code: FPCG to find our drive, or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). If you prefer, you can also send an appointment request to Barbara Salop; just include the name, cell number, email address, date of birth, and preferred time of donation and she'll do her best to have your timing honored. Early appointment times go fast, so after 10:30 is your best bet for slotting a time.
THANKS for considering blood donation! If you have any questions please contact Barbara Salop at bdsalop@gmail.com or by cell: 203-496-1604.
