Dear TGWA Members,
After careful consideration,
TGWA will be postponing continuing education classes over the next two months
due to health and safety concerns associated with COVID-19. Our list of classes and current status can be found at
, and we will continually update that page over the coming weeks. Please check that page regularly for the current status.
We have been closely monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization, as well as news of closures and cancellations from around the state. As you all know, the Governor has declared a statewide public health disaster and the CDC has recommended cancellation or postponement of in-person events with 50 people or more throughout the United States for the next 8 weeks. Some of our venues are now closed to the public and some instructors are not currently available.
Based on these factors, it would be inadvisable and impossible to continue with continuing education classes at this time. We are working with TDLR and believe there is a possibility that continuing education deadlines for license renewal will be extended. We will send an email announcement regarding any guidance from TDLR as soon as we have more information.
Our highest priority is the safety of our members and the community at large. We are still working with sponsors, speakers, and venues regarding rescheduling these dates and will send an announcement as soon as we have that information.
If you have any questions about potential future dates or your registration, please don't hesitate to call or email us. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting TGWA. As you know, continuing education classes are the main way we stay in touch with our members and support TGWA services, so we hope to see you at an event soon. In the meantime, stay well and let us know if you need anything.
