Dear MCPK Families,

As a team, we are continuing to develop our online pre-k curriculum to provide the best possible remote learning program for our students. Today and tomorrow, our teachers are participating in professional learning calls and collaborative planning sessions, so we are ready to launch our new structure on Wednesday. Optional Take-Home Activity Kits will be available later this week once the supplies arrive--I will send an email with details about materials, print-out options and safe, staggered pick-up instructions.

Because we are unable to provide morning or after care services while our building is closed, we are going to refund April extended care fees for those who are currently enrolled in the program. We hope that this alleviates some of the financial stress caused by interruptions to work and childcare. We will not charge families for extended care as long as we are doing distance learning. If you would like to continue to pay extended care as a donation, please email us at . Should you choose to pay it, your April extended care tuition will go toward supporting our hourly extended care staff for the month of April. We will provide you with a letter documenting the amount and thanking you for your charitable contribution.

Circumstances and policies are changing every day, for our families, our community and our government. We are working with our Board and our legal and financial consultants to investigate the possibility of additional sources of funding, should schools remain closed beyond the month of April. Until we know more, we will pay our teachers by collecting tuition, as we continue to provide remote learning pre-k. We will stay on top of every development and adapt our response strategically and compassionately to meet the needs of our staff and families. To give everyone some breathing room, we have changed all automatic tuition payments for May from April 1 st to April 15 th .

Thank you for all the positive feedback and support you are giving our staff. We are all working very hard under challenging, unfamiliar conditions and your encouragement keeps us going.

Do not hesitate to reach out if you need assistance from MCPK in any way.

Be well,

Ms. Amy
