Update on Upcoming Pavement Projects
in Morgan Hill
The City of Morgan Hill has an ongoing Pavement Rehabilitation Program intended to address the City's pavement rehabilitation needs. Throughout the next two months, you may see work in your neighborhood or along your regular route of travel throughout Morgan Hill. 

Work scheduled for the week of September 27, 2020
Night Shift (8:00pm-5:00am)
Beginning the night of Sunday, September 27, 2020 through the morning of Thursday, October 1, 2020, MCK is scheduled to complete the following work:
  • Butterfield Boulevard (northbound only) from San Pedro Avenue to E. Dunne Avenue: pavement digout repairs.
  • Condit Road from E. Dunne Avenue to the Ford Store: pavement digout repairs.
  • E. Dunne Avenue from Monterey Road to Laurel Road: micromilling and pavement digout repairs. The micromilling will improve the road in preparation for the final slurry seal surface treatment.
  • Tennant Avenue from Vineyard Boulevard to southbound 101: pavement digout repairs, pavement grinding, and start the asphalt concrete overlay.

Day Shift (8:00am-5:00pm)
JCC will be lowering utility valve boxes and manholes in preparation of the cold-in-place recycling (CIR) and begin the asphalt concrete overlay on the following streets:
  • Encino Drive from Sunnyside Avenue to the eastern end,
  • Roble Drive from the western end to Encino Drive, and
  • Via Castana from Via del Castille to Encino Drive.
 
Work scheduled for the week of October 4, 2020
Night Shift (8:00pm-5:00am)
Beginning the night of Sunday, October 4, 2020 through the morning of Thursday, October 8, 2020, MCK is scheduled to complete the following work:
  • Tennant Avenue from Vineyard Boulevard to southbound 101: complete the asphalt concrete overlay.

Day Shift (8:00am-5:00pm)
MCK will begin pavement grinding and cold-in-place recycling (CIR) rehabilitation treatment and start the asphalt concrete by the end of the week for the following streets:
  • Encino Drive from Sunnyside Avenue to the eastern end,
  • Roble Drive from the western end to Encino Drive, and
  • Via Castana from Via del Castille to Encino Drive.

Chrisp Company will remove thermoplastic striping and Graham Contractors will crack seal the following streets:
  • Condit Road from E. Dunne Avenue to the Ford Store.
  • E. Dunne Avenue from Monterey Road to Laurel Road.

For your safety, please travel through the work zones/detours carefully or utilize alternative routes and plan for extra travel time when traveling through the work zones. The City appreciates your cooperation and apologizes for any inconveniences while construction is underway as there will be some construction noise, minor inconveniences, and traffic delays during the work. The above schedule is based on necessary conditions and is subject to change.

Locations for maintenance are selected based on Pavement Management Program (PMP) data, resident feedback and field observations from Street Maintenance crews. Residents and businesses in the impacted area will receive a notice from the contractor prior to work beginning in the area. Any parking restrictions will be posted on the affected streets a minimum of 72 hours prior to the operation.
