Dear Students, 

We hope that you are enjoying your summer! This email is intended to inform you about the changes to the vaccination mandate and mask policies at Fullerton College, Cypress College, and NOCE. An important step is to ensure that your proof of vaccination or exemption are uploaded in myGateway (please see details below). 

Vaccine requirement 

All students who come on-campus must be fully vaccinated or have an approved medical or religious exemption. The current CDC definition states that someone is fully vaccinated two weeks after they get a second dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or two weeks after they get a single dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine. If you are not already vaccinated, please visit the My Turn - California COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduling website to schedule an appointment to receive a free vaccine.  

Students may also come to campus if they have an approved medical or religious exemption and participate in weekly COVID-19 testing. Students who wish to apply for an exemption may do so by completing the online submission in the myGateway portal.  

Booster shots recommended, but not required 

Booster shots are no longer mandatory for students, though the CDC does recommend booster shots for those who are eligible.  

Mask recommended, but not required  

As of June 1, face coverings are recommended but are no longer required while indoors. As COVID-19 cases rise in the county, we strongly recommend that people wear masks to protect themselves and others.  

Attending summer and fall classes 

Students may register for online and in-person classes, but to attend in-person classes in the summer and fall they must be in compliance with the vaccine mandate. All students may attend online classes, no matter their vaccine status.  

You may attend in-person classes and access on-campus services when 

You have uploaded your vaccination record in MyGateway 

OR  

You have an approved medical or religious exemption and test weekly for COVID-19 at a testing location provided by Fullerton College, Cypress College, or NOCE. Exemptions may be requested through MyGateway.  

Check-in procedures 

Before heading to a summer class or an on-campus resource, please first visit the check-in center located in Building 1200, Room 1246. The check-in area is open Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and closed on Friday. These procedures may change during the fall semester.
