January 29, 2021
Dear Members of the St. Mark’s Community:
I write to follow up on my email from yesterday in which I promised a report on the status of the weekend by 6:00 p.m. EST today. I am pleased to report that we have received the results of COVID-19 testing of boarding students conducted on Wednesday, January 27, and that there were no positive results among that group.
Therefore, while the School will remain in the Orange phase through the weekend, we are modifying our approach to the Orange phase and will now allow boarding students to leave their rooms for weekend activities in groups, organized by House. Specific information will be communicated to the students directly through the Dean’s Office.
Day students will be tested on campus on Saturday, January 30. Day students should come directly to the MFAC for testing and leave campus immediately after their test is administered. We expect results of those tests on Sunday, January 31. If there are no positive tests among that group, the School will resume in-person learning for boarding and day students on Monday, February 1. I will communicate news about Monday’s schedule as soon as it becomes available.
Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility.
