Over the last 20 years, we have experienced several global viral outbreaks. From SARS in 2003 to the Ebola scare in 2014, the impact on the market was somewhat varied. So, it is not surprising that the current coronavirus outbreak has also created some uncertainty in the markets. The potential impact on global economic growth and the financial markets is still unknown. But it is unlikely that the issue will be solved overnight. For that reason, we have taken some limited action in the portfolios we manage to provide an extra level of comfort to our clients.
