Update on islamic speaker and marijuana referendum
The islamic speaker invoked an islamic prayer. We had distributed a rose and an alternate prayer to people willing to accept it before the meeting that said:
Please pray to God and the Holy Trinity for the victims of rape, sex slavery, “honor” killings, female genital mutilation (FGM), and executions under Islamic Sharia Law.

The motion was made and seconded to table the marijuana referendum indefinitely. After some procedural discussion, the vote was taken to table the marijuana referendum indefinitely, effectively stopping it so that it won't be taken up again before the deadline to get on the ballot in November. The vote was 9-8 to table the referendum indefinitely. Bob Feidler, District 9, bob.feidler@sccwi.gov   703-786-2323 , who campaigned on being a conservative, voted not to table the referendum and voted with the liberals. Those in his district should contact him and hold him accountable.
Thank you to all who offered Christian prayer, spoke and attended the meeting last night. There was an overflow crowd into the adjoining room. We had many good conversations with those attending, including the ability to distribute the promotion of human rights brochures that are provided for under our Constitution . Of those who received the brochures, one was the invocation deliverer. Thank God for God.
