July 15, 2020

Dear students,
According to news reports , yesterday the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) rescinded its guidance from July 6. This is an important victory for international students like you and for institutions of higher learning across the country.
CIM is committed to providing you access to a high-quality educational experience, whether that’s in person here in Cleveland, virtually from your home or some combination of online and in-person instruction. If and as conditions change, we will do everything we can to help you stay in status.
Thank you for your quick responses to our request for information last week. We will use that information to issue new I-20s beginning tomorrow, with the hybrid classification described in the July 7 email . CIM’s plans for the fall semester align with this classification, which allows you to study in the US.
If you have questions that are specific to your situation, or this information changes your intent to study in person versus online, please be in touch right away with Kristen Zalar ( kristen.zalar@cim.edu ).
We look forward to seeing you soon!
