Dear Trinity Family,

Grace and Peace to you all as you return to your homes and routines after Hurricane Ida. I pray you are all safe and sound and that any chaos this hurricane brought to your life was minimal.

I do have some news about Trinity’s own campus and building. Initial post-storm reports indicated some damage and water intrusion which we quickly addressed. However, some more significant damage was discovered upon a closer examination of the roof and supporting structure, especially over the church itself.

We engaged a structural engineer to inspect the building Wednesday; he issued a report last night recommending a more thorough study of the building’s support system. In addition, the report  recommended that, at least until the detailed report is complete, the Church building (including the undercroft and church offices) not be occupied.

Today we are in the process of relocating offices, moving phone lines, the copier, etc. The undercroft nursery will be relocated to Molly’s House, staff offices to the choir room, Howcott room, and third floor Godly Play room.

A more thorough inspection will likely take approximately a month to perform, after which we will determine best steps forward. Rest assured we will communicate with you all along the way.

In the meantime, we will be worshiping in the parish hall. This Sunday, September 12, we will have a single worship service at 10:30am. The following week we will add the 8:00am Rite I service.

Thank you for your continued support and patience. Remember above all, that the church is something you are not somewhere you go. We are Easter people.

Best,

ART+
