February 4, 2021

Dear North Royalton City Schools’ Community,

On Monday, February 22, 2021, North Royalton City Schools’ staff members will be receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.  This is a welcomed event as it will go a long way to helping to make sure that we will be able to continue to staff our classrooms for our students.

Because of the time this takes and the fact that the vaccines will not be administered on site, we will have an asynchronous learning day on February 22.  This means that teachers will post lessons and activities on their Google classrooms for the students to engage with on that day.  This is considered a day of school and student attendance will be taken based on the students completion of their assigned work.

The second dose of the vaccine will be administered to our staff on Monday, March 15, 2021.  We will follow the same process for that and have an asynchronous day for all students.

Your building principals will communicate reminders as we get closer to the date. I appreciate your patience and cooperation as we go through this process.

Sincerely,

Greg Gurka
Superintendent
