St. Bart's Day

A tradition at St. Bartholomew's is to celebrate our saint's feast day, August 24, with a parish-wide gathering on the Saturday evening closest to the actual day. This year our St. Bart's Day celebration is on the actual feast day! Come celebrate St. Bart's Day, as we call it here, with a family barbecue picnic dinner and fellowship and activities for the kids!  In the church picnic tradition, please bring a dish to share: last names beginning with A-M bring a salad or side and N-Z bring a dessert. We are excited to see you at St. Bart's Day! All are welcome!

God in America
Wednesdays, beginning September 11, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Despite American devotion to the separation of church and state, religion and religious dissidents have played a crucial role in the development of our nation. This six-week course traces the history and struggles to define religious liberty, from the arrival of the Puritans to the religious issues of the present day, using historical dramatizations, archival footage and interviews with religious historians. The course will also include an additional session of the Early Episcopal Church - how it was founded, why it was founded and the struggles that early Episcopalians had in gaining independence from the church of England. The course will be offered to begin Wednesday, September 11 (a day which marked a dramatic change in how people view God and religion in America).
