Announcement from the Communications Office

Are your ministries on the map?
We're talking about new, innovative, community-based ministries in our diocese and how to share them with one another. One of the easiest ways to share what your comgregation is doing with the larger Church is the Episcopal Asset Map . (Click on the link or the image above to visit the platform and then bookmark it.) The platform is much-improved and more intuitive. There are many ways to reach your congregation, but here is one route to your "pin" on the churchwide map.
Find our diocesan page
Our diocese has a page on the map. It gives contact info and enables folks to click on our WMA map.
Find your congregation's pin on our diocesan map
All of our congregations and many of our community-based ministires are already there. We can always add a new pin - anyone can!
Click on your pin to see side shot of your congregation...
...and click on "more details" to go to your page.
Check out the info on your page...
...and click "UPDATE THIS PLACE" in the upper left-hand corner to submit changes or additions. Scroll down to "ministries" to add a new one to your list.
Who can update your congregation's story? Anyone.
Yup. Anyone in the pews, on the vestry, or in the parking lot can update a place on the map. It is not the rector's job to tell the community's story - though peaking in quarterly is an excellent idea. Get folks involved. Pick 12 apostles to update your story once a month. Print this how-to in your bulletin or newsletter.
SHARE A STORY
How does your congregation, school, institution, or ministry represent the loving, liberating and life-giving spirit of God, going out in the neighborhood? Tell the story.

Update a Place
  1. Search for your place by name, address, diocese, and much more on the map.
  2. Click through to see the details of that place.
  3. Share your stories by clicking "Update" and filling out as much detail as you'd like. A diocesan map administrator appointed by the diocese's bishop will review the information for accuracy and publish the information and it will become public.
No updates will be visable on your page until it is cleared by the Communications Office. Whew!
