One of each Performance Incentive is available, and one contractor company can receive both Incentives. Participating Contractors are automatically entered in the contest by submitting projects through the Trade Ally Portal. Project Completion is defined as when project enters the Final Application Review status in the Trade Ally Portal. Recipients will be selected based on Project Completion timestamp from the Program’s Trade Ally Portal. In the event of a tie, the project with the highest therms savings will receive the incentive. Incentive Estimation Tool
Have you had the chance to check out the new convenient tool designed to help estimate project incentives? It has been added to the contractor website under Program References and Resources. This Project Incentive Estimation Sales Tool will be particularly effective during initial sales conversations with customers to help showcase the benefits of participating in the Program. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you have any questions on how to locate and use this new tool.

Reminder: The tool only shows an incentive estimation and should not be considered as a final incentive.
Contractor Spotlight: Green EconoME
Tell us about your business and how you got started? Having spent over thirty years as an accounting professional, Marika decided to follow her dream of having her own business and founded Green EconoME in March 2009. Initially, Green EconoME focused on preparing benchmarking reports for AB 1103, the first California energy disclosure law. She then put her Contractors License to work, which she earned as a CFO for a high-end homebuilder/master developer and focused on helping schools turn Prop 39 funds into energy-efficient campuses. Today, Green EconoME’s energy benchmarking, consulting, and construction services have evolved to enable all types of building owners to save energy and increase the value of their properties.
What’s one thing you love about the work you do? When our client’s energy bill is reduced! I receive such pleasure in seeing the cost reduction! I love it when we can help someone understand their building’s operation so they can save money.

What is your favorite part of participating in the SoCalREN Multifamily Program? Our favorite part is providing funding to clients so they can afford to do the projects. Having a financial background and always keeping the client’s best interest is a priority, the SoCalREN Program allows us to explore more creative means of financing and expand the projects we can implement. Additionally, we have enrolled some of our DAC properties, and seeing energy and cost savings realized for the occupants and owners is moving everyone in the right direction.
What has been your favorite project over the last few years? Our favorite project was Avanti Calabasas. This project was a newer, high-end home development that my previous employer almost built. Although completed in 2018, the project had the 2013 building code. It still had fluorescent lighting in all the common areas, and most of the pool equipment could also be made more efficient. Even a recent development can benefit from an energy efficiency upgrade and proves how essential auditing and understanding the existing conditions of a property can be. There is always potential to save.
