SCHOOL AGE DAY: TBD

Due to the recent changes in administration, we have decided to restructure our leadership team. Moving forward, we will have a director, curriculum coordinator, and administrative assistant. We have recently welcomed Miss Kim as our curriculum coordinator and Miss Kayla is our administrative assistant. December 13th we will welcome our new director Aiyana. We are excited to see the positivity that each member of the leadership team is bringing Katie's Kids! Thank you for your continued trust in our learning center.

Hello Katie’s Kids Family,
Hello Katie’s Kids Families and staff! My name is Aiyana Izquierdo, I come from a military family and have lived in many places from New York to Hawaii, so I like to say I am from everywhere!
As a military child, I have bounced around many schools in pursuit of my degree. I started my undergrad at the University of Iowa and am currently finishing up online with a degree in Organizational Leadership and Learning and a concertation in Early childhood development.
I grew a passion for children at a young age, and since then gained experience in developing and teaching children of all age from infant to teenagers. I began my professional career in childcare at a learning center in Iowa following that center I ventured in government childcare for a while working at the Ft. Belvoir, VA Child Development Center. Most recently I spent time working administration at Cadence Academy Preschool here in Bloomington.
I recently became a new mother to Kylan, and that has been the most rewarding, incredible experience so far. In my free time I love to shop, craft, and spend time with my family! I am super excited for this opportunity and for my Ky and I to be a part of the Katie’s Kids family!

Hello Katie’s Kids Family,
My name is Kim and I am the new Curriculum Coordinator at Katie’s Kids! I have ten years of teaching and family services experience. I have taught almost all ages infant through second grade, as well as in a special education classroom. I received my bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in elementary education and my Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University Portland. As Curriculum Coordinator, I will be supporting classroom education staff (Child Development Specialists and Support Staff) in facilitating engaging learning opportunities and continuing their professional growth. I will also be working with staff to make sure our learning environments are safe and welcoming and that we are developing authentic relationships with our KKLC families.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors (especially playing tennis, camping and running)! I also enjoy watching sports (GO Michigan State!), finding unique coffee shops, painting and spending time with family.

Hello Katies Kids Family,
My name is Kayla and I am the administrative assistant at Katie's Kids! I previously worked at Katie's Kids for 5 years. I started my journey here as a support staff, moved up to a toddler teacher, then became a preschool teacher for 4 years. I also helped where I could at the front desk. I left Katie's Kids to become a nanny for a year. While in between jobs, Katie's Kids had offered me a position as administrative assistant and I couldn't resist returning! I have an associate from Heartland Community College and am returning to school this winter.
When I am not working, I enjoy reading, binge watching true crime series, documentaries or stand-up comedy. When the weather is warmer, I enjoy camping, hiking and adventuring to new places. I also enjoy spending time with my dog Junie B.
I am excited to continue my journey at Katie's Kids, as well to get to know all of you and your children!!

COVID-19...
Hours of Operation:
Our hours of operation will continue to be 6:45am to 5:30 pm. All drop off and pick up procedures will remain the same.

  • DCFS is still requiring that all adults and children over the age of 2 wear a mask inside of our building. We understand that fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask. We do ask that adults be good role models and wear a mask at drop off and pick up as your child will continue to wear a mask.
  • If you are not feeling well or hold any COVID symptoms please arrange for someone else to drop of and pick up your child. This is to protect your family and the staff.
  • If you are in quarantine due to a potential exposure, please make arrangements for someone else to drop off and pick up your child.
PLEASE NOTE: COVID-19 is still a risk in our community! We have had multiple incidents of people connected to either staff or students testing positive for COVID even after vaccination. Please help us protect our students and our staff by continuing to take precautions when out and about in the community. Take extra care while traveling outside of the community. And remember that mask use is still a requirement inside of our building by all people aged 2 years and older.

To keep our communication organized and ensure the designated staff member sees your message, we are providing a list of emails for our leadership team and each classroom.
