Greetings NTMCA Members!
Happy Holidays! I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving and survived black Friday and cyber Monday shopping deals. I would like to express my gratitude to those who joined us on November 13th in Flower Mound and encourage our members who could not make the meeting to attend our Holiday party scheduled for December 12, 2019.

NOVEMBER 2019 MEETING RECAP
|
Thank you to Theresa Scott and the City of Flower Mound for hosting our November meeting in their new council chambers. The building is beautiful and everyone enjoyed the tour of the new facility.
City Manager Jimmy Stathatos welcomed NTMCA to Flower Mound and spoke to the members about the history of the city.
|
Our guest speaker was Texas State Representative House District 63 Tan Parker who has served since 2007. He provided a Legislative Update and spoke about the most current legislative session as well as challenges for the upcoming session including the election of a new Texas House Speaker. Rep. Parker also spoke about his efforts to aid in the prevention of human trafficking and assist victims and survivors. He shared information about Jenna’s Law which he helped author, originated in Denton County and has become a model for the nation which has already been adopted into law in 25 states.
At this meeting, the membership approved the following business items:
- October 16th meeting minutes.
- Treasurer report for October 2019.

Remember, our organization is not limited to Municipal Clerks. Our membership includes professionals that work with records management, human resources, Municipal Court, legislative issues, building operations and the City Manager’s Office, so be sure to encourage colleagues in your city and neighboring cities to join us for an experience that’s valuable and enjoyable.
