The FCS application will not open till February 1, 2016 due to other IT related issues we have been experiencing. Those issues took first priority and pushed the launch date of the FCS and CBI application back till February. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the state office at 614-466-5718.

Interior Design Classroom Tools
E-Z DECORATOR proudly supports FCCLA ....attending the yearly national conference as an exhibitor as well as providing many schools with exceptional interior design classroom tools. We also participate in the Interior Design STAR competition.

If your school offers Interior Design as part of your Family and Consumer Science curriculum I believe that the E-Z DECORATOR System could enhance your program, giving students the ability to create drawings and layouts like professional designers. We also offer FREE LESSON PLANS.

Board of Director Positions Available

With the new structure of the FCCLA Board of Directors the following positions are open:
  • 2 Family and Consumer Sciences educators
  • 1 Hospitality and Tourism educator
  • 1 Education and Training educator
Beginning Fall of 2016 the position term is three years.  Meetings are held twice per year, September and February.  Anyone interested please complete the attached application and return to [email protected] by March 1, 2016 . Feel free to contact the state office with questions at 614-466- 5718.
Regional Career Development Events Updates
Culinary Team Menu will be posted under the Competitive Events Tab-Culinary on Friday, January 29, 2016.

Please be aware of the procedures stated in the Career Development Handbook (Draft) posted on the website. Once the handbook is accepted by the Board of Directors they will become effective immediately.
Event Cancellations and Name Changes
To cancel an event, please complete this form http://goo.gl/forms/50DBGQI1JD . All cancellations must be made by March 3, 2016.   All regional Career Development Event name changes will be made at the event.
FCCLA Career Day at the Blue Jackets
 
FCCLA Career Day with the Blue Jackets consists of an afternoon workshop featuring educational lectures by professionals from various careers that specifically target interests of students in FCCLA.  Following the workshop everyone is invited to sit back and watch the Blue Jackets in action.
 

SEC & REC Application and Interview Training

State and Regional Executive Council applications, handbooks and calendar have been posted to the Ohio FCCLA Website.  All applications due March 25, 2016.
 
There will be an interview training held for all candidates interested in running for Regional or State Executive Council on:
  • March 19, 2016,10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
  • Ohio FFA Center  
  • Registration Fee for this event is $25.00

Please complete the registration form and submit a check for $25.00 to Ohio FCCLA, 25 South Front Street, MS #611, Columbus, OH 43215. 

 

This training is not required but is recommended for all State Executive Council Candidates.

State Leadership Conference

 
FCCLA Chapter Showcase

Hello my name is Dejontay Shakespeare, your Vice-President of Public Relations and I need your help.  For the last 70 years, FCCLA has been building champions. It is now time to showcase the impact FCCLA has in your communities.

 

We would like to see what local chapters are doing to build champions.  We are asking you to send us your pictures of your chapter in action. 

 

Share your photos with us so we can share them at State Leadership Conference and on social media.  Photos should be emailed to our Co-State Adviser, Kelly Jung at [email protected] by April 1, 2016.  

Power of One Deadline
Power of One is to be evaluated on the local level. Chapter Advisers must enter all students who have completed their Power of One into the National Affiliation system by March 1, 2016.  Student who have been registered through state and national systems for Power of One will receive recognition at State Leadership Conferences.  Members must be present to receive recognition.
Service Learning Opportunity at State Leadership Conference
The Ohio FCCLA State Association is proud to announce that we will again be partnering with Meals of Hope to host a meal packing event at the 2016 State Conference in Columbus, OH on April 28, 2016. Our goal is to pack 70,000 meals for families experiencing hunger in the state of Ohio. We need YOU to make this goal a reality!

Any school that raises funds for this project and assists in the packing event will be recognized on the conference stage during the first session of conference.
Endowment Opportunities
During the 2016 FCCLA State Conference, any chapter donating to the Ohio FCCLA Endowment will be recognized on the conference stage. To donate, just visit here Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum level sponsors will have the opportunity to send a chapter member across the stage for recognition of their Endowment contributions. Endowment News
The Ohio FCCLA Endowment annually awards ten scholarships.  Candidates applying may attend a certificated program, technical school, a two-year post- secondary school or a four-year post- secondary school. FCCLA members enrolled in Hospitality and Tourism, Education and Training and Family and Consumer Sciences programs may apply.
