Are you looking for summer camps? We have compiled a list of camps that are happening within the Pee Dee region. We have removed camps that are full and have added new camps. Space may be limited so register early! (Camps could fill at any time.)

Florence Family YMCA


The Florence Family YMCA offers a Summer Day Camp with all the special activities that make summer fun! This camp is for children entering 5K-6th grade. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Camp runs all summer long in weekly sessions. You can choose to come all summer or select certain weeks.


5/3 Update: A few spaces are still available for Preschool, 5K, 1st, and 3rd grades. A waitlist is available for grades 2, 4, 5, and 6.


The 2023 specialty camps are Art Camp, Wild Water Sports, Rookie Camp, Basketball Camp, Soccer Camp, and Volleyball Camp.

YMCA of the Upper Pee Dee (Hartsville, Darlington, Chesterfield)


Summer Day Camps will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The camp is for children ages 5-12 years old. The program enhances a camper's self-confidence and leadership skills by emphasizing good sportsmanship, teamwork, and safety. Weekly field trips, character development, daily swimming, breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided.  


Specialty Camps will be offered in Hartsville and Chesterfield.

City of Florence Summer Camps


The City of Florence will offer its Summer Camp Flo-Town from June 5-July 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The camp is offered at four locations: Dr. Iola Jones Park Community Center, Levy Park Youth Center, Maple Park Community Center, and Northwest Community Center.


There is a volleyball camp from June 27-29 for ages 7-17.

Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office Camp


The camp will be hosted and supervised by the SROs July 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The camps will provide fun, safety education, recreation programs, outdoor experience and group activities.

Camp Pee Dee Pride


Camp Pee Dee Pride is a summer camp for kids 8-12 years old sponsored by the Florence County Sheriff's Department. The open camps are July 10-14 and July 17-21. Each week participants will play games, go on field trips such as bowling, the movies, or the waterpark. The camp is free.

WinShape Camp


Helping Florence Flourish welcomes WinShape Camp back to First Presbyterian Church in Florence July 10-14. As part of the national program under Chick-fil-A, campers completing grades K5-5 come together for a week of life-changing, memory-making, adventure-taking experiences ranging from sports to creative play to worship! The cost is $230.00 per camper, and multi-sibling discounts and some scholarships are available.

Darlington County Parks Summer Camp


Darlington County Parks, Recreation and Tourism will host its summer camps from May 30 through July 7. The camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 7-12. The last day to register is May 22. In this camp kids will spend the summer playing, creating, learning, and going on fun local trips!

Cheraw Summer Camps


Cheraw's Recreation & Leisure Services is offering several summer camps this year.


The Summer Playground Camp, held at Cheraw Intermediate School, runs June 12-July 21, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


The Nature Camp, held at Cheraw State Park, is June 12-15 and July 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Pee Dee Area Camps


The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Pee Dee Area staff have prepared a fantastic, educational, and fun all-day program for youth ages 6-12 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. The Summer Day Camp includes: game room, athletic, educational and art programs. Field trips and tours are an important part of the program. Most trips will cost an additional fee and are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Teen Club is open for teens (ages 13-18) Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to close. Camps are offered in Florence, Hartsville, Hemingway, and Lake City.

Polyphony Music Therapy (Lake City) 


All camps are held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday-Thursday (unless otherwise noted). Please get in touch with Robin M. Parker to register. All abilities are always welcome, and no musical experience is needed.

Florence Little Theatre


The Florence Little Theatre will offer two different camps this year:


Acting Up! Summer Camp is geared toward theatre, fun, and friendship. Your child will learn through age-appropriate lessons designed to inspire creativity and ignite the imagination.

 

Encore! Summer Camp is where campers control every aspect of a theatrical production. Over the week, campers will learn about various elements of theatre through an immersive experience that allows them to create original performances.

KFA will offer a variety of camps at each of its locations in Cheraw, Florence, and Lake City. Also offered are the "Tutus and Tennis Shoes" camp and camps designed for the Dance Company teams.

Coker University Dance Intensive Camp


Coker’s distinguished faculty push participants to develop artistic perspective and technical ability and expand their creative voice. Designed for high school students, the workshop will include Ballet and Modern technique, Jazz Dance, Improvisation, Composition, Dance Conditioning, Somatics, and Repertory classes. It will conclude with a final showcase performance. Participants will live in dorms on campus from June 19-23, eat in the dining hall, and take classes with Coker University faculty and guest artists.

Florence County Museum


Summer Studios is a unique summer program for children and teens. Each week-long session begins on Monday, focusing on a specific theme, and ends each Friday with an exhibit of student works along with a reception for families and friends. Space is limited to 12 students per session. Camps run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

The camp final camp available is the History Mysteries. There are wait lists for the other camps.

SC Governor's School for Science & Mathematics


The SC Governors School of Science and Mathematics is offering several camps this summer. They offer virtual camps, day camps, and residential camps. The residential camp courses include Anatomy & Physiology, Astrophysics, Pre-Med: Biomedical Genetics, Photography, Go For Launch, Saving the Oceans, and more. The virtual camp topics include STEM's Greatest Hits, Coders of the Future, Engineering Around Town, Anatomy, and more.

Florence Christian School Camps


Florence Christian School is hosting two camps this summer. They have a basketball camp and a volleyball camp. The volleyball camp is June 12-15 from 9 to 11 a.m. The basketball camp is June 5-8 from 9 to 11 a.m. Both camps are for boys and girls rising in 1st-7th grades.

Week-long beginner and intermediate tennis camps are for boys and girls ages 8-18 from beginners to high-performance players. Topics may include parts of the court, scoring, stroke production, court positioning and ball placement for both singles and doubles, games, match play, and short format tournaments.

Coker University Summer Camps


Coker University offers a variety of summer camps for grades K-12. They offer camps in acrobatics & tumbling, softball, baseball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball.

Little Bruin Cheer Camp


South Florence Cheerleading is offering a cheer camp from June 26-28 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $100 per participant and includes a camp t-shirt and snack each day. Stay tuned for more details.

Day camp at The Little Gym of Florence will give your child the summer camp experience without bug bites, poison ivy, and week-long commitments. You'll enjoy fun physical activities, games, and arts and crafts. Ages 3-8.

Moore Farms Botanical Garden (Lake City)


Moore Farms offers a variety of summer camps for kids ages 4-16. The camps are from 9 a.m. to noon, 2 p.m. or 3 p.m.

Riverrat's (Scranton)


Looking for a fun outdoor adventure and challenge for your kids? Look no further. Riverrat's adventure camp encourages them to work together on and off the river. It opens opportunities for them to bond and build team skills.


The camp is Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parents are invited Friday to join for a morning kayak trip with lunch to be provided after.

Girl Scouts Summer Camp


The Girl Scouts Summer camp takes place at Sandy Ridge in Bennettsville Sunday-Friday. Camps are for girls in 1st-12th grades. Girls do not have to be Girl Scouts to attend. There are several weeks to choose from. Check out the camp brochure here.

Fork Retch Wildlife Refuge (Mullins)

Wildlife Action Adventure Camp is a week of outdoor experiences to raise awareness about the conservation of natural resources, nurture an appreciation of wildlife, and teach stewardship. Each summer children ages 6-16 are invited to experience a variety of adventure camps at Fork Retch Wildlife Refuge on the Little Pee Dee River.
