For the past few years, Silicon Forest Electronics has hosted a teacher "extern" through partnership with the Vancouver School District. A VSD teacher spends one full week working on a project at Silicon Forest Electronics, which helps to open their awareness of current state technology, trends in manufacturing, and make new connections that can result in improved learning for students!
This year is no exception - Robert Russell (center) is a computer science and math teacher at Columbia River High School. Robert spent a week refining software planning tools under the guidance of our Chief Technology Officer Kevin Syverson and Process Engineer Colin Campbell. The project will help us gain a higher level of flexibility in the use of our technology "roadmap" and allow for better planning.
We are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive and profound impact with our community partners at the Vancouver School District and their teacher externship program!
