February Meetings at a Glance

Grab your calendars and mark the upcoming meetings in February! There will be a PZC Meeting on Wednesday, February 7th at 7:00 p.m. and the next Village Board meeting will be Tuesday, February 13th, at 7:00 p.m.


Village Board meetings can be viewed on Shorewood Community Cable Television. SCCTV broadcast is on Comcast Channel 6 throughout Shorewood and AT&T U-verse Channel 99 throughout Will County.

Village Board Meetings can also be viewed via live stream on our website's Village Board Meetings page. An event link becomes available under the Upcoming Events section once a meeting is live. An archive of previous meetings is also available.

2024 Hometown Heroes Banner Program

Are there any military veterans, police, or fire personnel in your life that you want to honor? If so, you can do so by applying for the Hometown Heroes Banner Program at Village Hall.


In the spring, the streetlights at Village Towne Center will be adorned with banners featuring our very own hometown heroes. This is a simple way to recognize their incredible service.

If you have any questions about the program, families and friends are welcome to fill out the application or contact the Village staff.

Spring Community-Wide Garage Sale

Save the Date for the Spring Community-Wide Garage Sale! It will take place April 19th and April 20th at various homes throughout the Village. Registration is also open for those who wish to participate.

Purse & Feminine Care Drive

A drop box is available in the rotunda at Village Hall for Senator Meg Loughran Cappel's Purse and Feminine Hygiene Product Drive.


If you are interested in supporting the cause, stop by Village Hall to drop off hygiene products from now until March.

Need a family-fun activity for Presidents Day?


Join Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant’s Kids’ Fair on Monday, February 19th from 9 am until noon at Troy Middle School in Plainfield.

National Weather Service Storm Spotter Training

Ever wanted to learn more about severe weather? Good news! The National Weather Service announced dates and locations for various severe weather spotter training sessions this spring. Training locations closest to Shorewood include New Lenox, Yorkville, and Chicago.

All ages are welcome to attend a 2-hour session to learn about severe weather hazards, including thunderstorms, tornadoes, important storm features, and more! You may attend a class at any NWS office regardless of where you live.

Winter Water-Saving Tip

Winter is the perfect time to start taking small steps to conserve water, and WaterSense is a great resource for water-efficient products and services.


If you are scouting out new showerheads or toilets, look for WaterSense-labeled products, are certified to use at least 20 percent less water, save energy, and perform as well as or better than regular models.
