Upcoming Schedule

Sunday, July 26: ONE SERVICE ONLY AT 9:00

No adult or children's formation/Sunday School this week

Monday, July 27:

10:30am- Good Grief Group

Wednesday, July 29:

7:30am- Holy Eucharist (bagels & coffee after)

6-9pm- St. James the Less Free Clinic

Reminder, we have shifted to a summer schedule of one combined service at 9:00 am (indoors) until August 9th.

A combined service not only allows 8 o’clockers and 10 o’clockers a chance to see one another, it is giving volunteers a well- deserved break before we return to our normal service schedule (on August 16th). Nursery will also return on August 16th.

A big "thank you" to the Rev. Kaki Swann for taking such good care of us while John was out of town. It was a wonderful weekend together.

News from Noah's Ark

We’re looking for a few kind-hearted volunteers to help give food away at the Pet Food Pantry from 6–7:30 PM on Wednesday evenings at SJTL. Make a commitment to work just one evening a month, and we'll pair you with an experienced committee member to help families keep their beloved pets at home where they belong.

Please be in touch with Susan Higgins if you are interested in volunteering.

High school students from all over the Diocese are going on the The Triangle of Hope Pilgrimage August 1st. Bishop Stevenson will be with the pilgrims this year as they visit Ghana. We are collecting notes to send to Rev. Fr. Nana Akwasi Kessie. He has been such a beloved friend of St. James the Less. Our hope is to send him words of encouragement and connection. There is a box to collect these cards and notes in the hallway.

One of the pilgrims will be coming to SJtL on Sunday, August 16th at 9am to tell us about the trip, what they learned, and to answer questions. We hope you will join us for that!

We pray blessings over you and are grateful you are in our community!

Prayers of the People

Lord God, encourage us to faithfulness, righteousness, and compassion for all God’s children. We lift up Sean, our Presiding Bishop, Mark, Gail & Bud, our Bishops, and John, our Priest in Charge. May they be strengthened and encouraged as they work with us to proclaim your Good News in this world. We pray for Donald, our President, Abigail, our Governor, and Steve, our Mayor, and all our elected officials. Guide them to lead us to the common good.

We pray for members of our community, friends and loved ones who are ill, especially, Gus, Erin, Meghann, Haden, Hilda, the Smith family, Mary Lou, Alicia, Steve, Margaret, Patty, Jennifer, Susan, Mike, Melissa, Amy, Martin, Cara, Sharon, Michael, Addison, Pam, Kelly, Jack, Dale, Mark, Laura, Paul, Betty, Doug, & Mallory.

We pray for the poor, the sick, the hungry, the oppressed, and those in prison. We ask your prayers for those serving in the diplomatic corps, the military, and as missionaries: Larson, Greg, Matthew, James, Ellie, Andrew, Katherine and Duke.

We pray for those who have died. We ask your prayers for those who grieve their missing loved ones. Praise God for those in every generation in whom Christ has been honored.
