Community members are invited to join us for a 2-part series on January 6th &13th (each 2 hours long) educational program Recognizing when someone is in need of help.” During this workshop, participants will engage in a variety of activities that strengthen their mental health knowledge, which in turn will help them understand their role in supporting others. HELP IN SUPPORTING AFGHAN ALLIES
The Jewish Community of Nashville is taking part in the effort to ensure that Afghan refugees have the support they need to become economically self-sufficient and successfully transition into life in the United States. We will need help with hands-on services such as greeting at the airport, apartment set-up, legal help, transportation assistance, and cultural orientation. Learn more here.
Cooking session with the Nashville Afghan Association 
What better way to get to know people and a culture than through food? Last weekend, volunteers from the Jewish community and members of the Afghani community cooked and bonded together through cooking with the most important outcome: providing traditional Afghani meals for 40 of our new Afghani allies being resettled in Nashville. Thank you to Hangama Wahidi (and family!) from the Nashville Afghan Association for helping to provide this meaningful experience. See photos from this event below:
