Congratulations to NYSERDA for securing a $15 million federal grant to advance the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Grant, granted by the U.S. Department of Transportation as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, aims to enhance accessibility to charging facilities. The initiative will specifically benefit small- to medium-sized cities, state parks, and popular tourist destinations, including hotels and surrounding areas. This strategic expansion is aligned with the ongoing efforts to proliferate charging options across the state, supporting the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act's objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 85 percent by 2050. Furthermore, it aligns with the state's mandate that all new passenger cars, pickup trucks, and SUVs sold within New York must be zero-emission vehicles by 2035.
