Farmers Take Note!
If you sell at your farmstand or have a full-on farm store, take time to look over the  Farmstand Audit Tool. This is designed to help you be a  better retailer. Created by Annie Harlow for NOFA-VT it assists farmers in self-evaluation to formulate a retail mindset. This is useful to review in your slower, off season and best prepare for your 2019 season.

 We Dedicate
 This Issue to Enid
We are proud to have been professional peers of Enid Wonnacott, NOFA-VT Executive Director for 31 fruitful years, who died January 19th. Under her leadership, Vermont steered the organic movement with innovative programs that received widespread national attention.

As a respected leader, she had the rare skill of bringing together people from different perspectives to move the organic movement forward. During the forming of the National Organic Program, she helped to craft a program that worked for both Vermont scale farms and much bigger farms across the country. Enid also has worked locally, representing organic farmers at the statehouse to pass important legislation and bring awareness to and obtain funding for a variety of issues.

Enid was a friend of re-localizing to build the economy of Vermont. She was as a positive influence working with farmers and positively impacting consumer awareness. Her laughter, riotous sing-alongs and always bright smile will be missed.

Please explore & support the NOFA fund established in her memory.
Addison County: Home of VT's Beverage Industry!
We know how Middlebury is home to some fantastic brands. Many started out small, growing through many iterations emerging as strong national brands. On the continuum are Long Trail, Aqua Vitea Kombucha, Stonecutter, Drop Inn Brewing, fresh pressed  Juice Amour, Apis Kombucha, Appalachian Gap Distillers, Savoure Artisan Sodas,  Shacksbury Cider, and of course all our dairy producers including Ice House Farm drinkable goat yogurt.

From a garage in Bristol to taking over the old Rocky Dale Pizza. Hogback Mountain Brewing is on the verge of scaling to new heights with a tap room serving brews and chews! Stay tuned as they complete the renovations.

ACORN is so happy to support all these businesses generating jobs, economic viability and like Hogback's mission: using local ingredients.
