AIDB Students Gain Experience In Agriculture
The Joe Tom Armbrester Agricultural Center brings many opportunities to students enrolled at Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB).

An anonymous donor gave $1 million to create the ag center in memory of Joe Tom Armbrester, who passed away in 2015. He was a well-known and well-respected farmer in Talladega County, and his wife, Jan, taught art at ASD for 30 years.

Alabama Farmers Federation Communications Outreach Director Mary Wilson, APR, was recently named a Southern Public Relations Federation Senior Practitioner.
Alabama Farmers Federation Cotton, Soybeans and Wheat & Feed Grain Divisions Director Carla Hornady serves on the Sunbelt Ag Expo board and was recently featured on its site.
A.L.F.A. Leaders Finetune Capstone Project 
Farmers and industry affiliates cultivate professional and personal development as members of Agricultural Leaders For Alabama (A.L.F.A. Leaders). Class V of the A.L.F.A. Leaders program met this month to work on their collaborative capstone project. This group will travel to London in January for an international agricultural experience.
Federation Supports Rural Medicine Program 
The Alabama Farmers Federation continues to support the development of rural physicians through $500 book stipends to Rural Medicine Program students at Auburn University.

Profits will help support AU Young Farmers as they become better leaders; promote a better understanding of agribusiness in fellow students; and learn more about the state's largest farm organization.
