SOMA Town Hall Meeting Re Triage Center

Next town hall meeting...

Date: Thursday, March 27th

Time: 5:30 pm

Place: Trellis Coworking & Events

Location: 981 Mission St., San Francisco

It's been a positive change to see 6th Street and the surrounding areas no longer crowded with drug dealers or individuals lounging on sidewalks and obstructing business entrances. With the Triage Center now in operation, we are witnessing the impact of its services, including the distribution of bus tickets to those seeking to return to their hometowns.

We are now seeing an increased presence of beat cops and ambassadors.

At this town hall, we will be joined by Assistant Chief of Police David Lazar, Tenderloin Police Captain Kevin Knoble, Southern Station Police Captain Luke Martin, and Supervisor Matt Dorsey. We also anticipate representatives from the Department of Public Works, the Health Department, Homeless Services, and City Hall.

Central City Theater, Art, and Events District

SOMBA supports the proposed Central City Theater, Art, and Events District Project (Feb 2025)...

The Central City Theater District, a collection of large historic theaters, rundown smaller commercial buildings, and a scattering of new residential developments, holds immense potential. The immediate surrounding neighborhoods, though neglected over time and declining with the pandemic, can be transformed. The theatre district, once a popular and colorful destination for local, regional, and even national visitors, can regain its former glory. Revitalizing the Central City Theater District is crucial and a promising opportunity to preserve its legacy and contribute to the City’s vibrancy.
