We want to thank everyone who has already completed the form we shared yesterday in conjunction with our plan for the start of the 2020-21 school year. Of the nearly 1,400 responses we have received thus far, approximately 91% have selected the hybrid model without lunch for first semester.
We also want to thank the students and parents/guardians who have shared their comments and questions with us about our return to school plan. Below are several important updates that address some of the feedback we received.
- We created a document that answers frequently asked questions about our online program, and includes additional information about Edgenuity that families may find helpful when deciding between the hybrid model or online program for their students. You can access this document by visiting https://bit.ly/2X5u5CA.
- We created a document that addresses why we did not select livestreaming as the primary method for delivering instruction in conjunction with our online program or remote learning model. You can access this document by visiting https://bit.ly/2BDvFnT.
- We have added courses to our Edgenuity catalog in response to input provided by some of our families. The expanded list of courses, which you can access by visiting https://bit.ly/3hM50EQ, includes new offerings in art, business, English, math, social studies, world languages, family and consumer sciences, and technology education. Please note that a course fee may be charged for taking some of these classes.
- Since we expanded the course catalog for our online program and provided additional information about Edgenuity via the document referenced above, we have decided to extend the deadline for completing the family planning form until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31. Please note, however, that the form is only available to Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South families that have completed the registration process for the 2020-21 school year. Families that have already submitted the form can fill it out again if they would like to revise their selection based on the information provided above, or if their circumstances have changed for any reason. Since completed forms are time-stamped, we will use the most recent one we receive to place students in either the hybrid model without lunch or online program.
