GET INVOLVED WITH FIRST THURSDAYS
We Want to Hear From You
A&C is proud to present First Thursday programs throughout the year, celebrating the creativity and talent of our local arts community. If you're interested in presenting a future program or sharing your work, we'd love to hear from you!
We're already planning our upcoming First Thursday schedule before the end of the summer, so now is a great time to get involved.
Due to the extreme weather conditions and our concern for the artists and their art, we had to cancel our Art Share for July. Our apologies, but we knew it was not an option.
We promise the return of Art Share in our upcoming calendar! Would you be interested in participating in Art Share via Zoom during the winter months?
We welcome your questions, suggestions, and ideas as we continue to grow these programs. Please contact us at programs@bucksarts.org.

Lullaby of the Little World
(a cinquain) by Julie Cooper-Fratik
for Brooke Rossman (1980-2002)
here a
calling out is
here in the little world
world of time, what joys there are here
oh, what
sorrows here in the world
the little sighing world
people lie on grassy hilltops
singing
singing:
oh, what joys here
oh, what sorrows bear us
in the singing sighing world of
broken
here the
scattered world lies
here the fragrant bees are
in the nectar's lately sorrow
humming
here I come to call you
but you do not answer
singing sighing in the world of
lasting
(River Heron Review, 2022)

We're pleased to announce that the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County's Artists' Booth proposal for the 2026 Doylestown Arts Festival has been approved. Thanks to the artists and writers who submitted work samples earlier this year, A&C has secured booth space and is now inviting members to participate in this opportunity to display and sell their work.
Participation is open exclusively to current A&C members and limited to 108 artists. A $10 donation reserves space for at least one 12" x 12" artwork in the booth. Artificial intelligence-generated or AI-assisted work will not be accepted.
| | |
All artwork must be human-created, wired and ready to hang, weigh no more than 10 pounds, and measure 12" x 12". Artwork should be delivered to the A&C booth by 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 13. If a piece sells during the festival, artists may replace it with another qualifying work. Writers may submit up to five copies each of as many as three titles, space permitting. Unsold work must be picked up by participating artists at 5 p.m. on Sunday. A&C will retain a 25% commission on all sales to support its ongoing programs and initiatives.
To reserve a space, make your $10 participation donation through this registration link.
