New Covid-related Closures Effective 7/13 + New LA County Health Officer Orders Effective 7/14
|
|
On Tuesday July 14th, the Los Angeles County Health Officer issued revised orders effective Countywide. The new County Health Officer Orders are in alignment with
Governor Gavin Newsom & the CA Dept of Public Health’s Statewide directives
, issued Monday July 13th, which rolled back re-openings in some sectors in an effort to help slow the recent sharp rise of new cases and deaths across California. LA County has been especially hard hit, reporting a new record high daily rate of 4,244 new cases and 73 deaths on July 14th.
The closures listed below - which went into effect on July 13 - are particularly targeted toward indoor operations where physical distancing with face coverings or avoiding contact with members of another household are difficult:
·
Gyms and Fitness Centers
·
Places of Worship
·
Indoor Protests
·
Offices for Non-Critical Infrastructure Sectors (as identified at
covid19.ca.gov
)
·
Personal Care Services(including nail salons, massage parlors, and tattoo parlors)
·
Hair Salons and Barbershops
·
Malls
In addition to the above, bars, indoor dining at restaurants, indoor museums, indoor operations at zoos and aquariums, and cardrooms and satellite wagering facilities remain closed in Los Angeles County. All events and gatherings are also prohibited, unless specifically allowed by the current Health Officer Order.
Businesses that remain open must continue to follow Public Health directives, and all Angelenos should continue to stay home whenever possible; wear face coverings; wash their hands; stay at least six feet away from non-household members; and avoid the Three Cs:
1. Crowded places
2. Confined spaces and
3. Close contact with others not in your household.
