Build Financial Confidence for a Chance to Win!

As everyday costs continue to rise, financial wellness and education play an increasingly important role in family decision-making. Taking just a few minutes to refresh your money knowledge can help you build confidence, discover new strategies, and strengthen everyday financial habits.

To support that learning, we’re launching a simple financial wellness challenge—and a chance to win a $50 Walmart or Gift of College gift card.

Click the link below and complete the following steps to enter the contest:

  1. Start the "Healthy Financial Habits" playlist.
  2. In the upper right corner of the screen, click Login and register to create a new username and password.
  3. Upon finishing the playlist, you will be automatically entered into the contest.

The contest runs now through March 24, and one participant will be randomly selected on March 25. Only participants who log in will be eligible for a chance to win.

Help Your Child Dream Big for Their Future

Big dreams often begin with simple exploration. Our Aspirations Toolkit is designed to help kids start thinking about who they might want to be—and how their interests today can become opportunities for their future.

One highlight of our toolkit is MAGTown, a free interactive program designed for Pre-K to 3rd graders, where kids can explore careers in a fun, age-appropriate way. Children can visit Big City, Small Town, and Rural Country settings across Maine, click on different buildings and people, and hear what folks have to say about work they do and why they enjoy it.

MAGTown encourages curiosity, builds awareness of different jobs and careers, and opens the door for new conversations between kids and caregivers—without pressure or expectations. It’s not about choosing a job; it’s about discovering possibilities! Check out MAGTown in the Aspirations Toolkit for a playful, engaging place to start exploring the future together.

Ambassador Spotlight: Meet Mindy!

This month, we’re spotlighting our Alfond Grant Ambassador, Mindy!

Alfond Grant Ambassadors represent the Alfond Scholarship Foundation by working with families to help them learn about their child's Alfond Grant and understand how to use them. They also encourage families to think ahead and make a plan for what comes after high school—no matter a child’s age.

In her own words, here’s what Mindy has to say about being an Alfond Grant Ambassador:

"What draws me to the Ambassador work I would have to say is the families I get the opportunity to meet, or it may be families that I know who are not aware of the Alfond Grant. I am the one that is able to link them to this important information that can be such a benefit to their family. I enjoy being in the community, attending community events and representing the Alfond Scholarship Foundation. Knowing that I may offer assistance to a family or child that may also shape their future is a wonderful thing to take part in. It is a pleasure to work alongside individuals that are invested in our Maine children."

Want to make a difference for families in your community? Contact us at info@myalfondgrant.org to learn more about becoming an Alfond Grant Ambassador.
