Good day Incoming MCPK Families,
We hope this email finds you all well during this trying time. We thank you for choosing the Montclair Community Pre-K for the upcoming 2020 - 2021 school year. We are excited to have you join our MCPK family!
We would like to thank you for your patience if you have experienced any communication delays with enrollment, financial assistance or inquires for the fall. Though our building is temporarily closed, we have been very busy supporting our current families and staff and working remotely to ensure our school’s continued success through this difficult period. As you can imagine, designing and implementing an online pre-k curriculum is very challenging, especially for a play-based, child-emergent program. Our incredible teachers are finding creative, innovative ways to keep the kids engaged and learning every day. We are so grateful for their hard work; they always inspire us!
Now that our teachers and families have settled into the remote learning routine, we can shift our focus to our incoming families and planning for the upcoming school-year. We are proceeding as though school will begin as usual in September and preparing for any changes we may need to make for the health of our staff and families. We are in close contact with the Montclair Board of Education and Department of Health and we will keep our parents informed whenever we get definitive information. MCPK follows the school calendar and school closing decisions of the Montclair Public Schools (MPS). You can find updates and notifications on the MCPK website, facebook page and the MPS website.
Please reach out to us if you need any assistance completing the enrollment process, have a placement request, need toilet training help or would like to schedule a financial assistance call. We understand that everyone’s financial situations will continue to change in the coming months and we can adjust agreements, schedules and tuition level as needed. Our staff is here to support you. Do not hesitate to reach out for any reason. The best way to contact us is via email at
. The appropriate staff member will get back to you with a call or email as soon as possible. Feel free to reach out with questions about how the pandemic will impact schools in the fall, but please remember that we do not have the answers yet. As always, we are open to parent suggestions and helpful resources. Now, more than ever, it takes a village!
Stay strong and let’s think positive thoughts for September!
