Dear Bolts Families:

As uncertainty continues, our prevention efforts remain incredibly important. How can you save lives and flatten the curve so our hospitals have the capacity to treat those who are infected? All of us must continue to practice physical distancing, staying at home, avoiding contact with people outside of the household, wearing a face covering whenever physical distancing is not possible, washing hands frequently and cleaning high-touch surfaces.
Since the beginning of the pandemic and its subsequent effects on our economy, Bolts staff have asked, 'How can we help our club families?' From that we are launching two initiatives: Small Business Spotlight and Community Marketplace.

SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
More than ever small business owners in our communities need us. In an effort to support small business, Bolts will be offering FREE Small Business Spotlights on our social media channels to show our support and to offer inspiration to other business owners. If you have a business or know any business owners who would like to be featured, please complete the google form below to submit their stories to us. Small businesses with 1 to 100 employees, as well as solo entrepreneurs are eligible.

BOLTS COMMUNITY MARKETPLACE
We have so much talent in our Bolts community, and others, who are looking for help and we want to provide a connection. We are creating our own Bolts Community Marketplace for Services, Housing (do you have an apartment to rent?), Jobs (Are you hiring?), and Items For Sale. There are a lot of great public charities doing fantastic work, but this is one way we can share within and among our Bolts community. We will develop a list internally and share information if you have something to sell, barter, trade or donate.

Please complete the google form below to have your business or service included. We will contact you before publication and only share your contact info with your permission.
ECNL UPDATE

From the ECNL Office on 4-17-2020 -- In the utmost consideration of the health and well-being of all participants and partners and to limit potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus, the Elite Clubs National League is immediately suspending all sanctioned league competitions through May 17, 2020. In addition, the league has made the decision to cancel the ECNL Boys Pennsylvania event on May 23-25, 2020.

Reinstatement of league competitions in the future will be based upon recommendations from appropriate health authorities.
This decision has been made to best protect the health and well-being of all individuals participating in or attending ECNL competitions.

Clubs should follow guidance from their local health departments and the CDC regarding decisions on training sessions and other team activities to ensure the safety and well-being of their players, coaches and other stakeholders.
NOTES
A few points after last week's announcements to provide some clarity about the DA and what it means to each level of the Bolts.
  • NEP - there is no impact to the NEP level teams
  • ECNL - no impact to ECNL teams
  • Academy - While US Soccer has abandoned the DA, the Clubs in Northeast Region continue their cooperative spirit to build the best replacement within our region. MLS clubs are putting together a new Academy league, the 10 month format will remain in place and Bolts leadership is evaluating all options.
  • U12 RDL (formerly DA) will remain for the 2020-21 season.

The Bolts will continue to be transparent and communicate to all our club members. You will hear the club's latest plans directly from us!

Stay safe and healthy,

Boston Bolts
