Last month on Monday June 26th, over 100 golfers gathered together for CASA Lake County's Annual Golf for a Child Invitational at the Kemper Lakes Golf Club. CASA's Golf Outing has been a much-loved event for 23 years now. Golfers enjoyed games, food, golf, and learned more about CASA's mission and work. It was a great day on the course and the event raised $103,500 for our CASA program! This year's event was sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors and the Cooper Meyer Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. Other sponsors included Intel, Fortinet, Schneider Electric, JMM CPA, ITW, Neal & McDevitt, Kim & Brent Moody, Jack & Donna Greenberg, Encore, Google Workspace, HP, and PIMCO. Because of the support of our generous sponsors and guests, 51 additional Lake County children will not need to face foster care alone, and they will have the support of a dedicated CASA Advocate throughout the next year. Kudos for Some Amazing CASA Volunteers!

To CASA Florica who is an advocate to a teen that recently gave birth to a baby girl. Florica has been helpful in ensuring that the young mother follows through with doctor appointments for herself and the child. In addition, Florica has provided information to support the young mother in caring for the child, pursuing information of interest for the young mother regarding learning sign language and SAT testing and offering other assistance.

To CASA Charlie for his hard work over the last four years advocating for his two school-aged CASA youth. He has been a constant in the children’s lives as they have had numerous placements. He has built a good relationship with the children, case worker, foster mother, and therapist. As the children’s placement is currently disrupting, he has been actively assisting in finding a new placement and he’ll be by their side wherever they move.

To CASA Joe who is a strong advocate for his five CASA youth to find success in their lives. He works hard at collaborating with the youth’s school teams to find resources for them. Most recently he’s focused on helping two of the teens to have meaningful employment or internships this summer. Joe had many contacts with their school and outside organizations to find opportunities.
