The 24 Solar Terms of the Chinese Calendar

This is our second Solar Term of the Chinese calendar. A little background on this calendar system is below. Enjoy this summertime!

The Chinese people use both solar and lunar calendars for farming and holidays. The solar calendar is known as the 24 solar terms (jie qi 節氣)that describe the changes in nature and guide farming activities, while the lunar calendar defines many Chinese holidays, such as the Chinese New Year and the Moon Festival (the Mid-Autumn Festival).

The Chinese Tea and Traditional Music

Tea goes well with some traditional Chinese music in summer. Guqin (古琴) is one of the most ancient Chinese instruments. It is simple, yet profoundly connected with the hearts of Chinese musicians. To know more about Guqin, click here.
