Dear Valued Partner,

In our continued effort to provide our partners with the most up-to-date information regarding clinic operations and COVID-19 protocols, we would like to share some important information on COVID-19 testing for your employees.

There are many reasons to get your employees tested for COVID-19 which include; illness, screening purposes, pre-employment, surveillance, travel restrictions, close contact to someone actively infected with COVID-19, among others. COVID-19 testing for screening, pre-employment and surveillance purposes can be performed any time at your nearest ConvenientMD location. If your company or organization would like to add COVID-19 testing to your existing occupational health protocols, please contact SalesTeam@ConvenientMD.com and a representative from ConvenientMD will reach out to discuss adding the service.

Please read and share the information below with your employees to ensure they are educated on when to get tested after close contact to someone actively infected with COVID-19.
Close Contact Testing
For persons who come in contact with someone actively infected with COVID-19
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines close contact as “someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before symptom onset (or, for asymptomatic clients, 2 days prior to a positive specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.”

Testing is recommended for close contacts of persons with SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) infection who were not wearing appropriate PPE at the time of the contact. While awaiting results patients need to isolate/self-quarantine.

For a known close contact exposure:

  • ConvenientMD will adhere to CDC Guidelines in regards to our testing protocol.
  • Asymptomatic employees should wait until 5-7 days from initial exposure. Research has shown that this is when the testing of viral levels is most accurate.
  • ConvenientMD currently offers PCR testing for our employer partners who are testing for COVID-19 with an approved or customized Treatment Form.
  • The current turnaround time for results is 3-5 calendar days.

You are encouraged to visit the CDC Website for Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates and your local Department of Public Health or Department of Health & Human Services for up-to-date information.
Wait Times and Clinic Closures
It is our goal and expectation that all ConvenientMD clinics will be open daily from 8am – 8pm to treat your employee’s needs. Due to higher than normal clinic volume, patients may experience longer than usual wait times, intermittent clinic closures and occasionally limited services. We encourage you to visit our website at www.ConvenientMD.com for the most up to the minute information regarding clinic operations.
Services Temporarily Suspended
Due to the respiratory nature of COVID-19, Breathe Alcohol Testing (BAT) and Spirometry (Pulmonary Function Test) services remain suspended.
Thank you for trusting ConvenientMD for the care of your employees. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Employer Services at EmployerServices@ConvenientMD.com or (603) 766-5913.
