Congratulations to the Winners of the #PictureYourselfInGermany Contest!

Thank you to all of the creative students in the US and Canada who submitted their art for the 2023 #PictureYourselfInGermany contest! Check out the three winners below.

First Place: Paulina Witt

Escaping the Second World War largely untouched, Heidelberg is a beacon of historical evidence that illuminates much of Western Germany with its allure. I recreated the iconic view looking out to Schloss Heidelberg - battered by lightning twice but still reigning strong over the town - and the idyllic Heidelberger Altstadt with its colorful facades. The academic stronghold Heidelberg has cannot be overlooked, but it is also a town ripe with culture and charm, its Alte Brücke extending over the River Neckar and guarded by a bronze monkey that serves as a reminder for pedestrians to remember their origins and humility. I picture myself studying, spectating, and falling in love with Heidelberg - Germany's connector to the past and reminder of great things to come.

Second Place: Kennedy Treptow

Third Place: Heba Beg

I am an ancient architecture and nature fanatic so naturally given a day in Germany I'd want to visit as many castles (some universities as well as they are no less than castles) embedded in beautiful sceneries as possible and end the day with a relaxed supper near the Neuschwanstein castle in Schwangau, Germany.
