Happy Women's History Month!
To continue our month-long campaign bringing light to women's contributions to culture and society in Germany, we feature Regina Jonas.

In 1935, Jonas was the first ever woman to be ordained as a rabbi. Her thesis at the Hochschule für die Wissenschaft des Judentums was entitled "May a Woman Hold Rabbinic Office?”

Regina Jonas was deported to Auschwitz in 1944 and died there.

This month, the words we will be spotlighting for Wort der Woche will be related to Women's History Month! For the second word, we chose Stimme {f} (noun). Stimme can be translated as "voice" or can mean vote when combined with the word Wahl to form the word Wahlstimme.
