Black History is German History
Honoring Black German Voices

Happy Black History Month! February 1st marked the official start to this year's Black History Month. Over the course of the month we will feature many prominent Black German voices.

While Black History Month is primarily celebrated in English speaking countries such as the United States and Canada, we want to highlight the Black contributions to culture and society as a whole in Germany. Be sure to keep up with our social media accounts to see who gets featured on our pages, starting today with Mo Asunang. Asumang has spent decades fighting racism and xenophobia within Germany and worldwide. Asumang made her directorial debut in 2007 with the documentary Roots Germania.
